YOHO, HARRISON - On 4 Apr 1895, at the home of his son henry, the goodly spirit of Brother Harrison Yoho was released from this world for its bright home in heaven, having reached the 81st year of his age. He was born and raised in Wetzel County, W V and died near the place of his birth. His wife, aged 71 years, preceded him death by five months. Their family consisted of five children, three sons and two daughters, one daughter having passed away earlier. Brother yoho had been a preacher of the Gospel of Christ for over fifty years and was widely known and tenderly loved by his brethren. He was the son of George yoho and Jane Hartley and was born 16 Noy 1816 on Paugh Ridge, in Proctor District, Wetzel Co, W V. He was one of six children, including Barbara; Sally; Richard; Henry; and Betty. His grandfather was Henry Yoho who came to this area during the Revolutionary War in which he served as a Private, a spy and a scout. He was also an Indian fighter with the Lewis brothers in this area. Harrison preached at most of the Christian Churches of the county and also in Marshall County. He had a farm near Halls Mills on what is now Rt. 7 in the vicinity of Wileyville, W V. On 22 Mar 1838, he and Martha Goddard were married in Wetzel County. She was born about 1820 and was the daughter of Henry Kellum Goddard and Dorcas Long. Martha died 10 Nov 1894.
