Henry Probably came to this part of Virginia with his brother peter. He Volunteered from Monongalia County, Virginia [now W.V. ]He and Peter are listed in the Pennsylvania Militia in 1782, First Battalion, Washington County. They are also listed in the company commanded by Captain John Guthery. Reference Pennsylvania Archives serios VI volumn 2, pages 18 and 19 and page 27. Henry and brother John are listed in the company commanded by John Mills, Lieutenant. Henry applied for and receivod a pension #S7996 issued 4 November, 1836 and signed by Liut. Thomas P.Ray at Morgantown. His pension was reduced from $80.00 to $40.00 to commence 4 March, 1831 and on 4 April, 1836 he received a check for $240.00. This is recorded in book C page 41 but is almost impossable to read as it is in longhand. His wife is named on the papers as Catherine and his birthplace as near Winchester, Virginia . He came to Western Virginia with his parents at the age of eleven yers. He died at the age of 93 in Marshall County 12 March, 1845. Catherine Baker was the daughter of Captain John Baker and Elizabeth Sullivan. Born about 1761. I have not found her death date. They lived at Cresap and in that vicinity. Henry purchased several pieces of land including 100 acres for $400.00 from Robert and Elizabeth Woods located at Long Reach on the Ohio River. Also 193 acres for $575.00 from Abijah and Pamela Mclain located on Fish Creek Joining land owned by Peter Yoho. I have only found the records of six children and have only three of these families.
