Warnings have long been issued

These are some words of Joseph Fielding Smith I translated from "Doctrina de Salvacion" (Doctrines of Salvation in English):

• Do not think for one moment that the days of trial have passed; it is not so. If we keep the commandments of the Lord we will prosper, we will be blessed; the plagues, calamities that have been promised will be poured out on other nations of the earth, and we will be spared them. Yes, they will pass us by. But remember that the Lord says that if we stop obeying his word, if we walk in the paths of the world, they will not pass us by, but we will be visited with floods and fire, with the sword and with plagues and destruction. We can save ourselves from these things by means of faithfulness. P. 33, vol. 3.
• Temporal aid will not help the situation, because we are still fighting, warring and contending with crime, with sickness, with plagues, with pestilence, and with whirlwinds, dust storms, earthquakes and with all the rest that is going to come upon the face of the earth, according to the words of the prophets; and all because men refuse to listen to the voice of warning". P. 34, vol. 3.
• From D&C 97:25-27 -- Nevertheless, Zion shall escape if she observe to do all things whatsoever I have commanded her. But if she observe not to do whatsoever I have commanded her, I will visit her according to all her works, with sore affliction, with pestilence, with plague, with sword, with vengeance, with devouring fire. Nevertheless, let it be read this once to her ears, that I, the Lord, have accepted of her offering; and if she sin no more none of these things shall come upon her; ...
• This means of escaping, that assures us the protection of the Lord, is very simple. Unfortunately, many of the people of Zion have refused to take advantage of this promise.

• On observing the condition among the people, I cannot see that we will escape when the judgments that are promised in this revelation and others that I do not have time to read descend upon the nations. Because of our disobedience and out lack of compliance to the commandments of the Lord, perhaps the righteous, like in times past, will be required to suffer with the wicked that are among us. P. 30-31, vol 3.

Now many years after the statements by Joseph Fielding Smith the closeness of evil around us is scary to me. The whole earth seems to be in commotion. It worries me how evil is taught as good at many of our colleges. Many of the young people of the world today, that I talk to, believe that wickedness is normal, and righteousness is abnormal.

We all need to repent, avoid evil and love one another!!!
